Close aerial view of the Red Cones toward the east-northeast. Note the breach in the rims of both cinder cones. During eruption of both cones, lava apparently poured through the breaches and spilled about 1.5 km down the east valley wall of the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River (to the left).
