LKT is a monitoring site where water-level and barometric pressure are monitored using a pressure transducer and barometer, respectively. These data are recorded on a datalogger every 30 minutes, and the data are transmitted via satellite to NWIS, our national database. LKT was drilled by a private company to investigate the hydrothermal system. Since 1984, well LKT also has been used by the USGS to monitor changes in water level resulting from crustal unrest. | |
