Activity for the period July 25 - July 31, 2005:

The realtime computer system detected and located six small earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since the last update at 11:20 AM on the 24th. All were located in the Sierra Nevada south of the caldera and all had magnitudes M<2.0.

The realtime computer system detected and located five small earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since the last update at 9:10 AM on the 25th. The largest were M=2.0 and M=2.3 earthquakes at 6:31 PM on the 25th and 8:23 AM on the 26th, respectively. Both were located in the McGee Creek area 1.5 miles east of Mt. Baldwin (8 miles W of Tom's Place).

The realtime computer system detected and located five small earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since the last update at 9:10 AM on the 26th. The largest was a M=2.2 earthquake at 7:05 AM on the 27th located midway between Convict Lake and McGee Mtn (9 miles west of Tom's Place). Two earthquakes of magnitude M=1.2 and 1.4 at 6:19 and 6:37 AM on the 27th, respectively, were located in the south moat of the caldera just south of the airport.

The realtime computer system detected and located six small
earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since the
last update at 8:50 AM on the 28th. All but one were located
in the Sierra Nevada south of the caldera. The largest of
these was a M=2.8 earthquake at 7:13 PM on the 28th located
beneath the west flank of Mt. Baldwin (10 miles SE of Mammoth Lakes).
The sixth was a M=1.4 earthquake at 9:06 AM on the 28th
located beneath the south moat just south of the airport.

The realtime computer system detected and located seven small
earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since the
last update at 9:30 AM on the 29th. All had magnitudes M<2.
Six were located
in the Sierra Nevada south of the caldera.
The seventh was a M=1.0 earthquake at 10:02 AM on the 29th
located beneath the south moat just west of the airport.

The realtime computer system detected and located just two
M~1 earthquakes in the vicinity of Long Valley caldera since
the last update at 10:30 AM on the 30th. One was located in
the Sierra Nevada 10 miles WSW of Tom's Place and the other
beneath the area where Hy 395 crosses the southern margin of
the caldera (7 miles WNW of Tom's Place).
